Ajax Flooring Ltd recently completed a high-specification flooring renovation at Crown Lane Primary School in London. Our mission was to transform “Classroom 6” into a vibrant, safe, and durable environment capable of withstanding the rigours of daily school life.
The Challenge
The existing floor covering in Classroom 6 was tired, worn, and potentially hazardous. The school required a rapid turnaround to minimise disruption, demanding a solution that combined the comfort of carpet with the practical safety of slip-resistant vinyl around wet areas.
Our Professional Process
Clearance & Disposal: Our team carefully lifted and removed the old floor covering, ensuring all waste was disposed of responsibly off-site.
Sub-floor Preparation: To ensure a flawless finish, we prepared the sub-floor using Ultrafloor Renovate, a high-performance fibre-reinforced latex smoothing compound. This created a perfectly level and stable base for the new installation.
Zonal Flooring Installation:
Main Classroom Area: We installed Paragon Vital loop pile carpet tiles. These tiles are renowned for their heavy-contract durability and modern aesthetic, making them ideal for the education sector.
Wet Area Safety: Around the classroom sink, we integrated Polysafe Standard PUR (2mm). This slip-resistant vinyl provides essential safety in high-risk areas while offering an easy-clean surface.
The Result
The entire project was completed in just 2 days. By combining expert sub-floor preparation with industry-leading products from Paragon and Polyflor, we provided Crown Lane Primary School with a floor designed to last for many years to come.
